After 10 interviews, yes 10 interviews, and being told in interview #8 I was hired, I never heard from Teradata after all my inteviews. This is an extremely unprofessional interview process I have ever experienced.
My first 2 interviews were over the phone, one with HR and the other with the two hiring managers. The phone call with the hiring managers was less than 5 minutes and they asked to meet up at a wine bar. They were very nice individuals and wanted to send to me a different city to do additonal rounds of interviews.
2 weeks past by and I get called to have #3,4,5,6 interviews on the phone with upper management. Everything goes well. Another week goes by and I get called again to fly to a city to meet with the managers I talk to over the phone. So now (onsite at a hotel) this is interview #7 and 8. After those interviews are completed, I get told by the hiring manager that the job is mine and he would get the paperwork to me the following week.
Another week passes by and the hiring manager calls to tell me that the MAIN director wants to see me (even though I already had an interview on the phone with him) to see if I am really a good fit. This will be interview #9. So I meet with the director and again the hiring manager calls me a couple of days later to say everything went well..however now they are asking for a presentation to another manager. At this point I was getting tired all of all the running around. I went ahead and agreed to create a presentation - interview #10.
I met with the hiring manager and another manager and showed my presentation. The hiring manager assured me this would be the last step. So one week goes by and no contact with the Teradata. I emailed the hiring manager and he kept saying, we will decide when to hire you in one week. One week passes by and not one phone call, email, letter - nothing.
I cant say I was too upset about not being hired. For whatever reason, they had doubts I could do the job and I probably wouldnt have lasted that long at Teradata.
I do wish - for any future "interviewees"- if you feel Teradata is being indecisive and wasting your time, decline any future interviews.
