I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Tesla (Fremont, CA)
Interview
The interview process was Long, disjointed, and not terribly informative—both for me and for them. They just don’t realize it. I found it to be 100% always about them, yet I never got the sense that they were any less lost than I was.
I applied online. I interviewed at Tesla (San Jose, CA) in Sep 2020
Interview
The whole interview Process took about 1.5 months. Starting from a screen call from the recruiter, then the hiring manager; If passed, they will assign you an "assignment" to complete in one week. I tried my best, did everything that I can do for this assignment. Even this was so time-consuming, it's a good practice. So I think the time I spent on this was valuable; Once the assignment was approved, they will move you forward to a pannel interview. So basically, the process was giving a presentation about what you did, then had about 4-5 small group channel of interviews with the whole team. After this, if passed. You will be asked to talk to a director for the final conversation. So overall, I will say I had a really great experience because my recruiter was AMAZING! She is the best recruiter I've had!!

The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Tesla (New York, NY)
Interview
The interview process was very long and time-consuming. I had a phone interview with the recruiter, a phone interview with the manager, a project to complete, an in-person presentation of this project followed by three 30 minute in-person panels of two people on the team, and then a phone interview from the manager's manager and then the director. The project requested for this process was vague and confusingly written. Because of this, I did as much as possible. This resulted in a very detailed presentation that took two weeks to complete.
Considering the extent of this interview and the promises of a difficult role, I expected to learn a lot. I believe the difficulty of the interview poorly reflected the job itself, as it was very easy and required little prior knowledge.
