I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Tesla (Albany, NY) in Nov 2020
Interview
Interview was a video conference with a Regional Project manager. It was very brief with few questions actually being asked. More or less just described the position and asked if I was interested in the role
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Tesla (Fremont, CA) in Jul 2021
Interview
Very friendly and welcoming. The only down side is it takes forever to get the responses on applied position. The interviewers were very well informed about my resume and the process was more of a conversation rather than interrogation

Question 1
Past project experiences like what challenges were faced and how you overcame them
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Tesla (New York, NY) in Jun 2021
Interview
Call first came from internal recruiter, quick screening: asked why I applied, what my timing and salary requirements were, then said they would set up the next round. A few rounds of 1/2 hour teams calls one-on-one that went well. Within a day the recruiter would let me know they went well & what the next steps would be. Eventually was given a project to review for two weeks and provide a schedule and estimate to present to a panel of interviewers. Unfortunately the teams call wasn't properly set up and it wouldn't let me turn my camera on. I went through the presentation and then was able to get in touch with the person who set it up to repair the issue. Then went through 4 or 5 one-on-ones and that was the end. A few days later I got a rejection email.
Overall the process was pretty quick-moving. I asked for specific feedback and haven't heard back yet.
I am pretty disappointed at the Teams call malfunctioning and although I continued through, it felt very detrimental to not have the camera on.
Each interview felt like it had a technical screening threshold that was pretty quickly passed and then focused on behavioral.
