I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Tesla (Fremont, CA) in Nov 2013
Interview
Usual. First: HR screening, second round: technical round where you need to solve one of the design problems they give you and justify it, third round is speak to the engineering manager part technical interview, fourth round: speak to director. Fifth round: onsite interview.
The onsite interview was an absolute waste of time. Most of them were disorganized. No one knew they had called a candidate onsite. I was waiting in the lounge for an hour before somebody even came to pick me up. This was very off-putting. I interviewed with the same people I interviewed before and was asked the same questions.
