      Configurator Interview

      Dec 19, 2013
      Anonymous employee
      Austin, TX
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at The Home Depot (Austin, TX) in Aug 2009

      Interview

submitted a resume via friends answered general but mostly non-tehcnical questions via phone interviewed with a few people in person, only one person asked much in the way about skills or experiences that could apply. As a whole the company could use training in interviewing. Including basic strategies to avoid asking questions that are easily answered falsely. For example asking to describe experiences with using a skill and than asking to describe how much they used that skill. Anything to try force the interviewee to describe real situations rather than being able to quote ideals.
