I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at The Home Depot (Westfield, MA) in Feb 2021

Recruiter touch base
Interview with mid/mid senior leaders
Interview with senior management (GM/HRM)
The interview is extremely corporate and formulaic. While the questions that are asked certainly hold value, the rigid structure of the interview/questions feels a lot more like an exam than an interview. The human element is lost and anyone who gets performance anxiety is at a major disadvantage. As someone who has been privy to the interview packets, each response is “graded” so essentially if you’re a fantastic candidate who doesn’t interview well, you’re almost guaranteed to be passed over unless you’re internal.
They look for “STAR method”, “SMART goals”, and buzzwords like “adaptive leadership” “process optimization” “root cause analysis” “supply chain bottlenecks” etc.,.

Question 1
Describe a time where circumstances outside of your control impacted your ability to meet an important deadline- how did you respond?
“I received a job offer without having an interview. The waiting process made me feel really anxious and uncertain, as I didn’t know what was happening or what to expect.”
They ask questions about how you would deal with an integrity issue. They ask questions about how you go above and beyond to help a customer. They ask questions about your availability. They ask questions about how you solve problems.
Quick and easy. Same basic questions as any retail environment. Pay is not good. Management will help to ensure you understand the questions that are being asked. Must provide weekend availability and open hours to be full time.
