I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at The Home Depot (Monroe, GA) in Dec 2014
Interview
I applied online. At the same time that I applied online, I took a skills/knowledge assessment. 1 day after applying online, I received the call for the phone screen. It was a couple of days later that I went in for my first interview. A couple of days later I went for a second interview with the store manager. After the interview that day, he made a job offer. I accepted and went the same day for the drug testing. When the results came back a day or two later, I started right away. The time from applying online to starting was 7 or 8 days.

Question 1
If a customer asks you a question that you do not know the answer to, what would you do?
I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at The Home Depot (Vancouver, BC) in Feb 2015
Interview
Went to a career fair in-store. Signed in. Dropped off resume. And interviewed the same day. Lots of behavioural and situational type questions. Sat around in the store for quite a bit to wait on my turn. Then was escorted upstairs to chat with a very cool department manager. It was honestly the quickest I've ever went from applying to hired.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at The Home Depot (Hooksett, NH) in Mar 2015
Interview
Took awhile to be notified, had to pass a phone interview before being invited to an in store interview. After the first interview was offered an hourly rate, given a flexible schedule, and proceeded to be trained my next scheduled time.
