I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at The Home Depot (Jamaica, NY) in Apr 2013
Interview
I applied online through jobsonline. I received an email stating that I would receive a call or I could call. I did call and proceeded with a phone interview. I was then told that I would be scheduled for an in person interview.
The interview was nothing that I had prepare myself for. One area , larger than a standard room and music playing loudly in the background. I kept asking the interviewer to repeat and she had to stop many times because we could hear all the other interviewers and interviewees in the background.
I was invited for yet a third interview which turned out to be the most unprofessional interview I have ever heard of. I was interviewed by the store manager who was so unprofessional. During the interview which lasted about 5 minutes he answered his phone two times and kept gestering for me to continue while he was on the call. And then proceeded to tell me that he had a lot of people to interview. I was informed that he would call me, which he never did.

Question 1
name a time where you had to balance speed with accuracy, and what was the results?
I applied online after hearing about openings. It was a basic application followed by a questionnaire of work-related and personality type questions. Approximately a week later I received an email stating that I would be contacted for a screening. The email included a phone number I could call so I called. The phone call began with a computer interaction with things like press 1 for English, then it told me that the job required bending and lifting and asked me to press 1 if I was still interested. I was transferred to a representative after that who asked me some basic interview questions (sorry I cannot remember the exact questions, but they were not too difficult). She asked me if I was still interested in the position and after I said yes she arranged an in-store interview for me and gave me directions for who to request at the service desk.
I arrived fifteen minutes early and after waiting for a few minutes I met the person conducting the interview. Prior to asking me any questions he let me know how many positions were available and let me know that second interviews would be arranged next week when the assistant manager came back from vacation. He said the interview would consist of six questions that would be asked to everyone interviewed. The interview questions were not too difficult and mostly consisted of giving specific examples of previous experience in customer service. Overall I though he was very nice, and I hope to hear back next week.
