I applied online. I interviewed at The Home Depot (Las Vegas, NV)
Interview
After an online application is completed you are called in for a face to face interview regarding basic skills and qualifications. If you are found to be acceptable you are called back for a second interview with a department manager. The interview is scripted and corporate.
Submit application online. They will not take your resume in person, so don't bother. Online only. If they like you you'll receive a call from Atlanta corporate human resources. You can call them the next day if you need more time. They do a phone interview of about 4-6 questions and they attempt to type your answers word for word. After that's over if they still like you they will call you and tell you to go to your in person interview at the store you'll work at. At this point you pretty much have the job in the bag and it's yours to lose. At the in person interview don't be too early, but definitely not late. The person to interview you will vary, but it will either be a manager or a department supervisor (not necessarily yours). They have a hiring packet and will go through each question in order. They will try to write down your answers. You may or may not need to do a role play. It's a pretty stupid process. You're pretty much hired if they say they want to finish up by allowing you to do the drug test right after. If you pass that the HR person at the specific store will call you to tell you when to go to orientation and to meet them to pick up your schedule for training. I did this process twice because I had moved.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What do you do if you see a person that has stolen product run out of the store and into the parking lot?
I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at The Home Depot in Nov 2012
Interview
Applied online, got an automated call to answer a few more questions, then was transferred to an operator for a series of more questions. Then scheduled for an in-face interview in store.
