I applied through other source. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at The Home Depot in Aug 2010
Interview
Due to the fact that I was previously employed by the store, the interview and hiring process was relatively quick. It consisted of a half hour discussion with the SASM, followed by a drug test, four hour orientation and then I was on the sales floor solo. For the most part, if anyone is truly interested in a REAL shot at getting hired at a particular store, be prepared to accept anything and work your way up. Also, to get a better than average shot, make sure the associate that is in charge of personnel and new hires, or any personal contact you might have at the stores that you are interested in gets your social security number or they may never see your application. It is totally up to Atlanta which applicants are forwarded to which locations.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at The Home Depot (Columbia, MO) in Mar 2011
Interview
I applied online and planned to call in 2 weeks to confirm they had received my application. Before that could happen, I was called to see if I was interested in interviewing. I ended up going the same day they called to interview. Basically, I was hired at the first and only interview. They couldn't technically hire me as I had to take a drug test before I could be hired, but the interviewer (assistant store manager) said he looked forward to working with me. Manager was friendly and seemed like a fun guy as the interview was very relaxed for the most part.
