I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at The Home Depot (Ellicott City, MD)
Interview
The interview process was as follows:
1. Recruiter call
2. Hiring manager initial call for fit check and screening
3. Technical round with director and principal engineer
4. SIG round with product management senior manager and other EM from another team.
The situation round has 8 questions which they want answers in STAR format and be thorough about everything but they will make sure to not give you enough time to be thorough and rush you.
The overall interview experience is a trash show to say the least. You get grilled like in any interview, but the tone is very interrogative than conversational. The panel had questionable knowledge about any topics they were asking and were mostly trying to make random situations up on the fly especially the technical round where the principal engineer was asking questions like eta vs elt instead of asking for a deep dive of my projects or portfolio.
Apart from this fact, the recruiter had the audacity to accuse me of cheating by telling me that i was using prompt tools to get through. Everyone has sticky notes on their screens to give them pointers, but going to the extremes of accusing a candidate of cheating really speaks for the kind of culture that this company has.
They’d probably throw you under the bus at every instance they find.
I would never recommend anyone to interview at the Home Depot for the kind of despicable interview process they have and a culture of accusations even without getting their facts right.
Interview was easy but if you survive that culture you’d be lucky

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at The Home Depot
Interview
4 rounds of interviews:
1. phone screening - 30 min
2. portfolio review - 45 min
3. design challenge (mine was app critique, nothing related to the company, no take-home things) - 45 min
4. behavioral interview (6 situational questions) - 45 min, but we did extra 15 mins
The manager and everyone involved were friendly.
The interview process took 2 months, starting with the first call. After the last round, I waited 2 weeks and, unfortunately, didn't get an offer.

The interview process was pretty straightforward. Some of the questions were about handling difficult situations in the past and overcoming challenges. How would you address a disgruntled individual. Do you work well independently. Do you work well with others
