Interview
Received a phone call to come in for an interview. Arrived 20 min before time, asked to sit in the employee break room. Heard too many negative comments from current employees about store and manager. Another prospective employee came in 20 min later and was pulled ahead of my interview time.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at The Home Depot (West Hollywood, CA) in Aug 2010
Interview
My interview was scheduled for 11am, I arrived 20 min early. They did't see me till about 12pm.
I waited in the hallway, next to the KRONOS clock where the employees clock in/out. And hour + waiting is a bit time to wait, there is a lot of stuff to read and look at on the walls but try not to wander off (it will look bad) so you can look at it and keep you busy while you wait.
Dress up because first impressions for this Entry level job is very important!
Bring 2-3 Additional Resumes "with" your references and maybe a cover letter.
While in the interview, DON'T SLOUCH, Say "Umm", Don't fiddle with your fingers or tap your feet.
Even though there are paying entry level money, they are watching the way you handle yourself.
And most importantly of all....Be yourself!!!!
