I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Thermo Fisher Scientific (San Diego, CA) in Nov 2020
Interview
I was contacted by a senior leadership recruiter via email, and lack of punctuation led me to believe it was spam. I proceeded after verifying her email address as a Thermo employee. Recruiter correspondence over about a nine-week period was scattered and rushed, and my questions often went unanswered. I participated in five individual virtual interviews with senior leaders in which some interviewers were late, did not show or declined to turn on their cameras. Interviewers did have thoughtful and strategic questions. I was given three and a half business days to create and then present a strategic 15-minute deck to the interview panel. On the day of the presentation, one panelist did not show and others again kept their cameras off. At the end, I was ghosted by the recruiter, despite my sending two follow-up emails. The unprofessional, impersonal and disrespectful treatment was surprising not only for the level of position but for a senior leadership recruiter, senior leader panelists and a globally recognized company.
