I would like to share my highly unprofessional and horrible interview experience at ThoughtWorks India Office.
It started with taking home coding exercise. Then I attended F2F pair programming and then two F2F technical discussions. A few days later, I was told to attend another F2F technical discussion as panel wanted to explore some more technical areas.
After this round, I was told that feedback is good and we can go ahead with next rounds. Same day Aptitude test followed by "3 Pillars of Thoughtworks" related F2F technical discussion was done. End of the day, I was told to share my availability for the Final round with Leadership Head of the office. HR confirmed the schedule for the same.
However, just before the scheduled day of Final Leadership round, HR called me and told me that we brainstormed on your candidature and due to technology team feedback, we cannot proceed with the Final Leadership round. Clearly after each of the take home test,
pair programming round, aptitude test and 3 technical rounds feedback were given and leadership round was scheduled.
A couple of unanswered questions:
1) "Social and Economic justice" discussion for 1 hour in 3 Pillars - Interview round, is this all a joke?
2) Thoughtworks not ready to take responsibility for wrong decisions, instead, we justify them by passing the blame to the candidate (technical skills not up to the mark). HR woke up at the last minute even after scheduling final leadership round to take the u-turn giving the technical assessment as an excuse.
3) Any feedback given by candidate around interview process is used aginst him. I gave feedback to HR regarding the unprofessional behavior of one the interview panel, when interview started late by 1 hour as panel was busy checking emails at scheduled time and then he entered room with no idea of previous rounds and their feedback, went for another 30 min, collated the feedback and then started the round.
4) Since Interview process started on Dec 2016 and finished in March 2017. I really doubt do we really looking to hire or some other agenda.
I hope someone at decision-making position will try to address this and take corrective actions.
