Applied through LinkedIn. Received a mail from the HR. Filled a Google form and got my interview scheduled according to my availability. It was a smooth process. People are courteous.

Question 1

Round 1: Selenium and Automation with Problem Solving - Telephonic - Phone interview with Hangout Screen Sharing. 1. About yourself

2. How does selenium web-driver interact with the browser? What makes your selenium code works?

3. If the backend is down (server + db), how will test the front end data population?

4. Instead of keeping the JSON request (POST) as a text file and reading it, why did you create the JSON in the run-time in your framework?

5. Debug a site which is not working all of a sudden (The site can be anything. Not necessary to be an e-commerce)

6. Coding Questions Asked to screenshare in the hangouts, and asked to open the eclipse, gave two problems to solve. 1. Check when multiplying a 6 digit number with 2 gives a number which has all the same numbers. E.g: 142857 x 2 = 285714

Done with the first round. Expressed my interest in Jenkins and the automation tool I've built apart from the interview interaction. The interviewer was really good and ended the conversation telling, I'll get a call from the HR. Got the call for the onsite rounds within 30 mins.

This is an easy round but how much ever you prepare, you'll definitely fall short of something, so prepare extremely hard. You'll never know, where you'll slip and where you'll lose the balance while coming up with the test strategy and test plan. To crack this round, do not assume anything (It's human tendency to assume things while talking about familiar apps. So avoid it).

I have applied to iOS developer position via ThoughtWorks site. They called me for technical online test on both iOS & Android(Main focus on iOS). And later a week, they called me for coding interview on their promises. It was simple program. You can use your own laptop, wifi access will be provided. They are mostly checking how you are approaching the program & your design architecture rather than output. Once you have cleared this round, you will called for F2F interview on the same day. It was very helpful experience for me.
