I applied online. I interviewed at U.S. Department of State
Interview
The interview was 30 minutes. The interviewers were very kind and didn't ask any "got ya" questions. It was much easier than anticipated. Have not heard back about the results yet.

Question 1
What makes you interested in this bureau and public service more broadly?
After arranging it over email, my supervisor called me and we talked for a while about my interest in the country and in diplomacy. He both asked and answered many questions about me and about the internship and what it would be like. He was very personable and seemed to have pre-selected me for the internship, if I still wanted it.

Interview
Interview was straight forward and professional. The really challenge is after you receive a tentative offer. From that point, you are at the mercy of security clearance and the process may or may not take forever, and you will be in a limbo. I wish they warned applicants about this.
