I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at UBS (Pune) in May 2019
Interview
I managed to go thru 2 rounds of Interview with UBS and HR scheduled both the calls perfectly. In the first round I met a genuine guy who was patient enough and was assessing me on my work and experience and hearing me patiently.
The second one was with a guy from New York and I can swear that was my worst ever interview experience. I was intimidated and insulted in that call but I was still patient. He wont let me talk and interrupt me in every line. I can assure that guy doesnt have any knowledge on Data Science and Python Language. He was asking me definitions of some random machine learning terms(hope he doesnt know ML and Deep learning are vast subjects and no one can have a complete knowledge on that and everyone works on their field of choice like NLP, Image Processing etc.). An interviewer should evaluate a person's experience and not asking definition of this or that. Being a python developer from 8 years this is the most funniest thing I heard from an interviewer- what are different types of generators in Python? I was like that you even know what generators are? I said can you tell me since i dont know types of generators in Python, never heard of it. On that he replied Yield is a generator. I was about to hang up after hearing this. I was still patient and explained him yield just return the next value in iterator and it's like return in any regular function. I'm happy that I didnt make thru that interview round. I dont want to work with someone posing as a Data Scientist when he is not. Thank God.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at UBS (New York, NY) in Oct 2018
Interview
Very bad experience. After the application online the manager of the team asked to have a call with me.
It has been a 30 mins call, he started explaining the role and the team and then he talked 10 mins about himself, his achievements and his career.
After that he asked to talk about my career path but I was interrupted 30 secs later because he didn't want to know about me but just about what I am able to do.
At that point he started to asking very technical question and some machine learning theory questions.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at UBS
Interview
I got a message from a senior person who is in my LinkedIn regarding a data scientist role at UBS. I interviewed with him for the first round. Asked basic questions about my resume and whether I'd any experience building APIs which I had.
Next round was scheduled with a data scientist from the team. The person called late and was not professional at all. He grilled me on several points
NLP, CNN, LSTM, Word2vec etc
Interview questions [1]

What to do in case of unbalanced data?
