I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at UNDP (Istanbul) in Feb 2019
Interview
Depending on the sponsoring country, the process may vary. For mine, it was 1st round with sponsoring government -> 2nd round with hosting team at UNDP & UNV. The overall interview is not too difficult and the competition varies depending on the kind of position/title and duty station. The harder and specific the position, the less the competition.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at UNDP in Jul 2023
Interview
It was a panel of 3 people and lasted about 40 min. Each asked about 2 to 3 questions. They were respectful but you need to prepare for many possible scenarios of a competency-based interview. It can be tricky under pressure. Definitely prepare beforehand. I declined in the end, the living allowance for a national UNV with experience are too low and not sustainable.
