I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at UPS (Willow Grove, PA) in Apr 2010
Interview
They take you through the facility and give you a tour.
Save your questions for later, most places its too loud, you won't be able to have them answered in a group setting. Then back to HR where they go over the pro's and con's of a job at ups. There are many of each which you need to be honest about in considering if you would fit in here.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Do you think you will be able to lift up to 70lbs comfortably for 3 to 4 hours a day?
Handle from 1100 to 1600 packages an hour? (yes that's one every 3 seconds) Pick it up, step to a belt and place it down. Sometimes off of the floor.
Setup an appointment with the interviewer. Interviewed with a large group of applicants. They took us on a tour of the building during one of the shifts. It gave us an idea the job consists of and what we would be doing.
There was no interview at all. You are automatically hired and put to work within 20 mins of your first day. You have 30 working days to see and prove if you are fit for the job.
