      Renewable Energy Consultant Intern Interview

      Mar 18, 2010
      Anonymous employee
      Atlanta, GA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at UPS (Atlanta, GA) in Jan 2008

      Interview

My internship was part of the Tauber Institute for Global Operations (University of Michigan College of Engineering / Ross School of Business) competitive internship / academic program. I got the interview after having been very engaged at the on campus company presentation and asking interesting questions in the post presentation networking period. My energy level and interest in the internship job content was high and I was not afraid to let that show. I was short listed for a 2 on 1 interview following the company presentation/networking event. I carried the momentum through to the 2 on 1 interview and did significant background research on UPS using sites like Vault Gold and How Stuff Works and made it a point to reference what I learned in the interview. It was a basic behavioral (tell me about a time when...) type interview. I followed up promptly with a thank you email. One other notable point of interest in how the UPS representatives portrayed the company is that they made it clear that UPS is a very conservative company and they wanted to make sure I was o. k. with that.
