I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at UPS (West Columbia, SC) in Sep 2013
Interview
i Applied online, received an introductory call telling me when to expect a call, received the next call 2 weeks later to come in for a facility tour and filled out another application on site, went through a training process that same day, came back to work the next day.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at UPS (New Stanton, PA) in Nov 2015
Interview
Tuesday: Showed up for open interview and was hired on the spot. Asked what shift I wanted, I said daylight 10-2. They said great can you start tomorrow, I said yes. Wednesday: Showed up for orientation and the building was evacuated due to a natural gas leak. After reentering the building I began watching videos and was called back to HR to be told I can't start today because the background check wasn't complete and that she would call me in on Monday. Monday: I get a call "Why aren't you here?" Because you told me you would call Monday and tell me when to come in. "Why did I tell you that?" I don't know, something about a background check. "Oh I remember, can you start Wednesday?" Yes I can.
I worked two days. My 4 hour shift turned into a 6-7 hour shift with a whopping entire 15 minutes for a lunch break. Woke up the third day I was supposed to go in and couldn't move due to the abuse of my body from the past 2 days. I called in sick seeing as how I couldn't get out of bed and they weren't too happy with that. After reflecting on the situation I decided $10.10 an hour wasn't worth the abuse to your body and I won't be returning. Also expect to have to show up 30-45 minutes early to get a parking space and if you do much shopping online the job will make you cringe because packages are literally thrown and dropped without any concern for what's in them.
