I applied through a recruiter. The process took a year or more. I interviewed at US Air Force (Horsham, PA) in Sep 2009
Interview
First you have to go see a recruiter and they will set you up to take the ASVAB which is an exam to see what kind of jobs you are eligible for. After you take that, they will try to see what job you want to do. After that, you have to have a criminal background check done and have to be medically cleared to join. Once you join, you need to go to basic military training and technical training to learn your job

Question 1
The most difficult questions come when your unit is being inspected by the IG(inspector general)
You have to pass a test written on an 8th-grade level and a physical exam. Try not to weigh too much or too little. After you get in that doesn't matter anymore.

Question 1
Can you run a mile and a half in less than 20 minutes?
Making it to E-4 was a very exhausting process that took about 3 years of sitting around and waiting. If you wait long enough they just give it to you.
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at US Air Force
Interview
The interview was very easy. It was more of a show up with your information and they will process you into the system. The hardest part was finding a time to track down and sit with a recruiter.
