      Naval Reactors Engineer Interview

      Aug 22, 2025
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at US Navy in Aug 2021

      Interview

3 45-minute interviews (has been decreased to two recently). Higher-ups at Naval Reactors will ask you 2-3 technical questions. They may be math or physics questions, but they are testing your reasoning skills. You will then interview with the Admiral of NR.

      Anonymous employee
      Washington, DC
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at US Navy (Washington, DC) in Oct 2011

      Interview

The interview process involves a full day of interviews with various high level managers. Each interview can run up to an hour and involves technical questioning usually, but could stick more to personal details. All depends on your luck in being paired with an interviewer. After having the 3 interviews with managers, the final decision is made in an interview with the 4 star admiral.

      Question 1

Why do we need an industrial engineer here at naval reactors?
