I applied through a recruiter. The process took 8 months. I interviewed at US Navy
Interview
Applied at the recruiting office and took the ASVAB exam. Score requirements changes year to year depending on the needs of the navy but for Nuke it is around 75-99. While at boot-camp, there is a tiny interview process where 3 Navy personnel tell you what the big three rates are like (roughly) for ET, EM, and MM and you write down in order of preference what you would like to be rated as. After that, they go into an office to deliberate and once they come out your fate is determined and you are now rated as one of the three.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at US Navy (Dallas, TX) in Apr 2013
Interview
Go to local recruiter, they'll ask you questions about your history, send you to a medical facility for evaluation, if you pass then you choose your career field based on your ASVAB scores and go to basic training.
I applied online. The process took 9 months. I interviewed at US Navy (New York, NY) in Jan 2014
Interview
The only interview was with the recruiter. I did not have to answer any other questions in person prior to the ASVAB test. Once completed, scored high enough to enlist, and assigned a date to appear at MEPS station. Once physical completed, I was sworn into the service.
