I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at US Navy (Charlotte, NC) in Nov 2012
Interview
Easy. Be physically fit. Prepare. be able to run 1.5 miles and do situps/pushups appropriate for your age and sex. Your recruiter will test you before you are sent to MEPS, so just saying you can do it won't cut it.

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at US Navy in Mar 2012
Interview
very thorough, this is not your typical job. it is government so they will go through everything. you need to be upfront and honest. even when you don't want to admit the length of time, or if you got fired why you got fired. they need to know everything so you don't have unexpected delays or eligibility in joining.this is all done in a recruiting office. everybody there is active duty or reserve so respect them as a military member still serving even though it may seem like your typical administrative job.
