There isn't a interview. You go in and talk to a recruiter. Everyone who joins the military goes through the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS). It's where applicants for military service go to complete the enlistment process. You'll be screened to make sure you meet the physical, academic and moral standards to serve in the Navy. That process includes testing for vocational aptitude, career counseling, physical exam, background screen and an oath of enlistment.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at US Navy (Saint Louis, MO) in Jun 2012
Interview
Not much here really. Some background investigation and education review but not much of a interview. Typical health questionnaire questions, basic medical examination. Quite a bit of paperwork to fill out and a fair amount of pressure to renegotiate the terms of employment with regard to the rating in which you will be trained.
