I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at US Navy (Fort Worth, TX) in Nov 2012
Interview
It's not a hiring process. If you qualify you can join! The Navy is a military branch it's not a job you apply for and simply get. You go through the recruiter, take the test, then meps for medical and psychological evaluation.

Interview
Pass the screening physical, and the ASVAB. Then was offered a position with the navy nuclear power program. Took another test, and went through a more rigours screening process. Required many questionnaires and forms. Also had to provide written statements.

Question 1
If I had any relatives that were not national born citizens
I applied online. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at US Navy (Austin, TX) in Aug 2014
Interview
Interview process was fairly painless. Conducted a phone screen and then a follow up with the hiring officials. The only problem is that the entire process from application to hire date took 6+ months. The longest part of the process was waiting for the HR department to write up the offer letter and send it to us.
