I applied through a recruiter. The process took 8 months. I interviewed at US Navy
Interview
Program that pays you and you accrue time in service as well as leave while completing a bachelor's degree (mine was in civil engineering). Talk to a Navy recruiter, fill out 100s of pages of application forms, interview with an accessions officer, complete a medical screening, then your package goes before a board to be approved or disapproved. I recommend you get a recommendation of a current Naval Officer in the field you plan to enter.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at US Navy in Nov 2013
Interview
I had a phone interview which lasted approximately 45 minutes. The details in my resume described a Senior Logistics Analyst with extensive managerial experience. The job offer listed is for a Senior office Administrator in the State Attorneys' office. I would get approximately 30 days of office indoctrination to gain the knowledge of the office requirements and then given the department to guide and direct 15 personnel in the daily operations as required along with 4 attorneys.
