Pass the ASVAB and drug test. Select a job. Never trust that “these are the only jobs I have to offer”. Talk to internet strangers about their experience, choose what you WANT to do and go for it. Advancement can be excellent in ANY rating.

Basic discussion of life situations and what things could prohibit you from service. This includes a basic knowledge exam, drug test and loads of paper work. Following this, depending on your job, you will be submitted for a security clearance, which can include a very robust background check.
