I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at US Navy (Montgomery, AL) in Jan 2012
Interview
Interview process was lengthy but relatively easy. You go to a recruiter, they embellish the truth a bit, you pick a job, sign some papers and off to processing you go. There they do a full medical workup and check everything to make sure you are physically fit and healthy enough for service. From there you get your ship date to recruit training and so begins your career for the next four or more years.
