I was recruited via LinkedIn to apply for the open marketing position and had a few brief conversations with the hiring manager prior to the position officially opening for applications. Once the application went live, the hiring manager contacted me so that I could fill out the application.
After completing the application, I was contacted to complete an automated video interview that took approximately 30 minutes to complete. The questions were typical and focused on my past employment history.
I was then selected to interview in-person with a committee at the regional office in New York City. In preparation for the interview, I had to draft a sample pitch for the product and create a 15-minute presentation for the committee. On-site, prior to the committee interview, I had to perform an hour-long writing test, too.
Once the process was completed, I reached out to the company and hiring manager two times - once two weeks after the interview, and a second time after an additional two weeks went by. I never heard from them again, positive or negative. I was told after the committee interview that they would be in touch relatively shortly with next steps. It would have been nice to have the actual follow-up after such a rigorous interview process, especially since I prepared a marketing plan that could be fully executed upon without me.
