I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at University of Cambridge (Cambridge, East of England, England) in Oct 2017
Interview
Applied online, took 2 months to get back to me, but quickly followed by a panel of 3 for a face to face. Friendly people, good two way process. However, the next day was invited back for a second interview, but upon getting myself there at great expense, turns out the position originally applied for was no longer available and I was in fact interviwing for another! I certainly wouldn't have taken this up if I'd known that was the case. To top it up, I was never reimbursed the more than £80 of travel costs as promised, despite reminding constantly. All in all, friendly people, but seemingly little transparency and slow to act.
Single interview for summer research position
Good questions - focussed on knowledge of field and technical knowledge
Nice intervewer
overall highly rate and would interview again
drawback was that interview was quite short, would like more time
Given enough notice before the interview, told who was interviewing and overall a very straightforward. I would recommend. Feedback was also given at the end. The questions asked were relevant to the position.

Question 1
How would I apply my specific skills to the research they are conducting?
It was an online 25 min interview with 3 members of the committee. Each of them were supervisor in the project each from a different field. At the end they said that the result will be delivered online in a week.
