I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at VMware (Bengaluru) in Apr 2014
Interview
The interview process was actually very considerate and they tried to finish all the rounds in a day.
1. Written test - The only issue I found here (and some other companies as well) is they make you write using a pen and paper!! I think when you interview for a technology company, you must provide the interviewee with a computer. It saves paper and frankly, it had been so long since I wrote, it took forever!
2. Interview with senior members of the team - I think the girls who interviewed me wanted me to think like how their company works. I could only tell them how *I* work in my current situation. They were very critical and tried to make me get defensive which I did not appreciate.
3. Interview with the hiring manager - I liked talking to the manager who was more forthcoming with what he expected from the role and the plans the company & he had for the team as well.
Overall, everyone was extremely courteous and from the background I received of the team, it was a huge team and the growth opportunities were abundant, which was one of the main reasons I was looking for a change.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at VMware (Sofia, ) in Dec 2019
Interview
The application process included 3 stages - phone interview by a recruiter, on-site interview with the direct manager and another last interview with the immediate team. The interview with the direct manager on-site was about sharing the vision and business model of the company, some questions regarding my previous experience and my approach to given tasks. I was also given a quick task to edit a write-up given by engineers in a way that is suitable for external readers. The team interview was a bit harder as there were several people in the room asking different hard questions about personal behaviour and approach to problems or urgent asks.

Question 1
What was your previous experience? How do you cope with urgent tasks or heated discussions with co-workers?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at VMware (Bengaluru) in Feb 2019
Interview
The HR short lists and schedules for an interview, I was informed that there might be three to four rounds of interview and that they would like to finish all in a day’s time which is good. But, I was asked to leave after a F2F interview. Before that the HR is like a stalker ensuring all you moves and reminds you about the interview but after the interview doesn’t even share the feedback or informs how the interview went and what are they looking for. If you are pushing the candidate to take off a day to complete the rounds and spend time/energy the least you could do is tell what they are looking for in a candidate and why they didn’t get through. If F2F is an elimination round why not have a telephonic round and the short list instead of making the candidate come over.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at VMware (Bengaluru) in May 2014
Interview
The interview process was very smooth:
Written test (very generic) no grammar test.
Panel Interview
Manager round
all these were done in one day and no waiting time got free in 3-4 Hours and I was told it will be half a day process.
Shortlisted candidates had HR round.
That is followed by background verification and you would need to mail all your certificates for the check.
