I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at VMware (Broomfield, CO) in Jun 2012
Interview
After several phone interviews to determine how technical you are, the in-house interview takes place. Don't expect easy questions. The interviewers are instructed to plumb the depths of your technical knowledge, and will continue to ask questions on technical break-fix scenarios until you are stumped. There's also an additional in-house interview with HR/Behavioral to see if you are a good fit, and can handle technical support under pressure. Anyone in the interview process can give you a thumbs up/down, but in the end, a panel reviews the applicants to pick the best fit.
