Veeam Software Software Developer interview questions

Before having any call you have to do an initial coding test. I was applying for a C++ job which emphasized on strong C++ skills. The test was regular leet code stuff (iterating over strings, sorting, counting, etc.). I had a total score of 89% and then I had the recruiting call. After that they rejected me because of a lack of experience. In my honest opinion this isn't very nice and has zero appreciation. Whats the purpose here for that test, to win an entry ticket?
