Veritas Technologies interview questions

There were 4 rounds in total. 1st two were technical ,3rd was managerial round and last was HR. In 1st technical interview i was asked questions related to OS, internals of java, and various testing related things , this went for 40 mins or so. After i cleared that in 2nd round i was asked questions related to programming. Questions were on strings,arrays,DS little bit on angular as it was mentioned in my project. 2nd round was 1 hour long. In managerial round which was 3rd round, it was mainly full of puzzels, and what will happen when we will do this and that ,this went on for 30 mins. In HR they were mainly asking about company, their products, HR were telling what ill be working on, they also asked me to speak on one topic , they also made me speak on random subject. this was also 30 min long process. So basically it was a long process.

I went through 3 interviews over several weeks. The first was with HR, the second and third with a panel of managers and team leads. The 3rd was a full blown sales pitch. Once you pass the 3rd round you are required to have a 4th interview with HR leadership for a personality assesement and the 5th interview is with the VP. They love to waste people's time. Historically, at Veritas then Symantec then veritas again; they lay off people every year. Among the people that survived the layoffs, some jumped ship to bigger and better things. The people that remained became managers and directors by default even though they are not qualified.
