The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Walmart (Birmingham, AL) in Jun 2009
Interview
After applying for the position online a month earlier, Wal-Mart called for me to attend the first interview. I found myself waiting for someone to take me to the back along with another interviewee. There was a contrast in me and the other woman there interviewing. I'd dressed up and put myself together, and she'd wore jeans and a wrinkled tee. When they called me back, I sat in front of a panel of three people. One was a hiring manger, one a corporate worker, and another seemingly just a department manager. No one greeted me back as I sat down.
One started asking questions immediately. All of them were broad experience questions, Such as a time when I helped someone, a time I followed directions but didn't want to...those types. I had to ask the interviewer to repeat the questions multiple times because she was speaking quickly, unclear, and incorrectly pronouncing words. Half-way through another manager interrupted my answering of a question to check and see if I was even being asked the correct questions for my position. No one knew, but they continued.
After answering all the questions, they told me I wasn't done and to wait outside. They interviewed the second woman. After she came out, thirty minutes later and I was still waiting, she talked to me of her experience. She said she couldn't think of any answers to the questions and laughed. An associate told me they'd call me later if they wanted me. And off I went, never a call back. The other woman however, is now a proud associate at Wal-Mart. It's funny how things work.

Question 1
Name a time you went out of your way to help someone and what was the result
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Walmart (Olathe, KS) in Jun 2009
Interview
Although I waited 20 minutes (where I was advised someone would be there to get me at my appointed time) before someone asked if they could help me, and the woman from personnel assisted me, the interview process went well. The first person asked all the basic scripted questions, then asked a manager to come back for an immediate second interview. The manager asked fewer of the scripted questions, went over the pay rate and what the position would be. She then gave the form for the drug test and advised they had to wait for the drug test and background check to come back. I was offered the position 2 business days later.
