I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Walmart (Halethorpe, MD) in Aug 2012
Interview
I filled out an application online (around august when they bring in a lot of people to prepare for the busy holiday season) and was call the next day. They scheduled an interview for that week, when I arrived I had to wait 30 or more minutes after the time scheduled til I could be seen.
The manager doing interviews practically fell asleep during the interview but it didn't bother me much since I knew he worked over night. He asked normal questions "how would you handle this situation ... name a time when blah blah" and dozed off during my answers.
I was sent out for a drug test that day and consented to a drug test. I hadn't been called back after about a week so I visited the store (to shop) and when I saw the interviewer I politely inquired the delay, he said that the background checks did not come back yet and I few days later I was called back and started my paid training via computer.

Question 1
Name a time when you had to overcome a difficult and challenging task, and how did you over come it.
The interview process was straightforward and simple. I have yet to experience on boarding, but will update when completed.
Anxious to see what the starting rate is.
I am supposed to receive an email tomorrow about next steps.
Was quick and easy! Showed up for hiring event and got hired on the spot! And started working like a week later. Been a good company so far. Spoke with Kiera. She is very nice and understanding.
Very simple, in person one-on-one with a manager. Told me about Walmart and the role and asked if I was interested. Little to no questions and was over quite fast.
