I applied online. I interviewed at Walmart (Elwood, IL) in Jun 2025
Interview
Interview itself was easy.
The clown show started after the accepted offer. Their system has no scheduled openings for orientation, Three(!) different HR contacts ignored multiple emails and dozens of calls. They scheduled me after I told them there were no slots, this was the only time I got a call back, and I told them I called and emailed you about this. I think someone got caught and went into their ATS system and scheduled me to cover their butts.
Ironically the master manager mentioned this at the distribution center during the interview (one of the "highest tech" ones in the nation), now it all makes sense.
They claimed they couldn't find anyone of my skillset (engineering), then backfilled it the same week.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Walmart (Reston, VA) in Jul 2023
Interview
Easy. Very basic. They want to make sure you’re not a criminal you won’t steal and you show up on time if you want normal hours you’re going to need a vehicle because they ask you if you have a reliable ride to work
It was just a 1 on 1 interview with a walk around of the store and explanation of the role. Not much else was involved in the interview process really.
