I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Walmart (Lubbock, TX) in Jul 2016
Interview
The interview was easy and brief. The manager inquired about my previous job before asking for an example of a moment that I have provided excellent costumer service. Afterwards, I was told to sit where I had been waiting before as he filled out some paperwork. The only downside of the interview was that the manager appeared to forget that I was waiting for him, and twenty minutes passed before I saw the man again, who seemed surprised that I was still there. I suppose I should have taken that as a sign; it certainly would have saved me two months of my life.

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Walmart (Winnipeg, MB) in Feb 2015
Interview
I was first contacted by Walmart to do an over the phone interview. Before going into the over the phone interview, I was asked what position I originally applied for, which was Overnight Maintenance, but I was offered temporary Overnight Stocker, instead, so I accepted. The phone interview lasted about 15 minutes long. After the over the phone interview, I was scheduled for a group interview.
There was about 10-13 of us. We had to partner up with a fellow interviewee and interview them. We were able to use cards provided by Walmart that had questions to ask, or we could ask our own. After that, we were to stand in front of everyone and introduce the person we interviewed.
After that we partnered up with another interviewee and we were to role play. We were given cards telling us the position we were to play (e.g Sales associate and Father), and we were supposed to sell an item to our partner. We were to plan out the situation with our partner first and then perform it in front of everyone.
After that, a group of managers entered the room, and we had what was like 1 on 1 speed dates with all of them. They would ask 1-3 questions. We were given 90 seconds with every manager during this speed date portion of the interview.

Interview
You've pretty much got the job if you're called in for an interview, unless you fail the drug test or back ground check. No real dress requirements. In my experience I was given a set date and time to come in for an interview, but when I arrived no one knew why I was there or where the person that was supposed to be interviewing me was. None of the paperwork was ready or completed. The actual interview took five minutes tops, but I waited on the management to get their stuff together for about an hour. The job title that I applied for was not the one I was assigned and the hours were different and set, but it all worked out.
