I applied online. I interviewed at Walmart (Sault Ste. Marie, ON) in Jun 2015
Interview
It started with an online application, and some assessment questions. A week later I received a phone call, that featured a brief phone interview. I was then asked to appear in person for an interview. My interview short, one on one, that lasted maybe 20 minutes. I was asked if I could come in a few days "to sign some papers", I knew then I had the job. The next step, signing papers, and filling out a background sheet, was pretty short. Just short of a week later, I was called and told to appear for orientation.

To get an interview for any position you have to complete a questionairre and application. The app is pretty standard and the questionairre is multiple choice; it asks you what you'd do in basic retail workplace situations, how you'd respond to customers and supervisors, stuff like that. It's pretty easy to pick the choices that you can tell they'd want to see. The interview was really pretty standard as well, you have to tell them about a time when you ran into an issue at work or school and how you solved it, how you'd handle disagreement with a supervisor, none of the questions are hard and it's not an intimidating environment. Really as long as ypu can answer the questions and gave good availability you'll probably get hired, as long as theyre looking for people. And i think i had to take a drug test when i started but they don't do random drug checks or anything for current employees.

if you get called for an interview, you can pretty much guarantee that you have the job unless you fail the drug test or are a complete idiot. The questions they ask are very easy. Nowadays expect to be employed as a Temp. A few months down the road, based upon your work ethic, you can expect to be hired on as part-time.
