The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Walmart in Feb 2012
Interview
Very long interview process. Basic questions about how you have solved problems in the past. Expect to be interviewed by at least 2 managers. About a week later I was called to come in for a second interview..which was just paperwork and a drug test (taken at a clinic). Finally what seemed like almost a month later I was called for orientation

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Walmart in May 2012
Interview
I was initially contacted around 7:10 at night. I missed the call because I wasn't expecting to be contacted at that time. I called the store back and asked to speak to someone in personnel. I luckily was able to speak to the person who had called me 15 minutes earlier. She scheduled me for an interview. I arrived 8 minutes early. Waited for the manager for 5 minutes. Was interviewed by the manager of the department I was interviewing for, along with another manager. I was asked scripted questions from a sheet of paper. l finally got the call I had been waiting for, but it didn't lead to me getting hired.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Walmart in Jun 2012
Interview
I applied online and got called about a month later to set up an interview. After talking on the phone, I had less than an hour until I got interviewed. I went straight there, waited probably 15 minutes. I first got interviewed by management (she was hourly). She asked me about 6 questions all having the same beginning part "Explain a time when..." I did not like this because my last job was very non-traditional and I did not encounter many customer service issues. Then after that interview was done I had to be interviewed by a salaried person of management. She basically asked me the same exact questions with a little more variety. Then straight from there I waited. They had already called my references. I filled out a background check paper and they gave me my drug test form and sent me on my way. They then called me 2 days later telling me to come to orientation in another 3 days. I went to orientation which took a whole day. Then for 2 days I took computer based training. After that I shaddowed someone for a day. Then someone shadowed me for a day. Then I was on my own with little experience. When I tried to ask for help, there seemed to be a shortage of CSM'S even though I knew there were at least 3 on duty.
