I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Walmart
Interview
No need to overdress. Casual+ will do it. Just don't look like you just got out of bed. A salaried member of management will ask you approximately 5 situational questions. As long as you answer them all honestly and be polite you shouldn't have too much trouble.
It will likely be held in their personnel room in the back. It may be somewhat noisy in there with people coming in and out to use computers and personnel associates answering phones. This may be a bit distracting.

Question 1
They ask you typical situational questions. You'll need to provide examples about how you went out of your way to help someone in need. This doesn't have to involve a past place of work.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Walmart (Dallas, TX) in Nov 2014
Interview
Extremely simple and laid back. No disrespect, but you must really not know how to keep it PC if you walk out of an interview with Walmart and aren't offered. Basically, they'll ask you a bunch of "how would you handle irate customers/tell me about a time you've solved a difficult problem" type questions. Basic stuff. You tell them what they want to hear, and they'll go over the salary and will have you sign whatever you need to sign. From there, they'll send you to a drug testing site that you'll have a day to complete. A week from there, you'll be in Personal doing CBL's.

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Walmart (Boston, MA) in May 2011
Interview
easy interview with two people. they asked very basic scenario questions (describe a time when...) They asked about availability. I was offered the job on the spot and given my orientation date before I left the interview. The person that interviewed me was very nice. The interview was very short. It lasted about a total of 20 minutes.
