      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Western Union (San Francisco, CA) in Apr 2015

      Interview

the interview process was long. It was very time consuming. I had applied through a recruiter and after that had to face more than 7 rounds of interview. First round was with hiring manager. Then next 2 rounds of telephonic. It was technical. Next 4 rounds were onsite interview. 3 round were technical and 1 round was more of scenario based. Overall a good experience.

      Question 1

The interview was related to SQL and also they asked me to Walk us through your code and explain the process by which you came across the solution. How quickly were you able to pick up the language? About how long did it take you to write this?

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Western Union in Jan 2021

      Interview

The position would be based in Denver HQ, but the recruiter/interviewer is located in Brazil. While the job description requires the candidate to have excellent communication skills, the recruiter has a thick-difficult-to-understand accent with bad grammars in both verbal and in writing. The job posting on WU website stated "annual base salary gross: 70K - 120K. I was really surprised when she cannot accommodate my asking salary as it is outside of the range (I asked for 100-120K). While she was going to give the highest recommendation for me, she informed me that it is up to the hiring managers if they can be flexible with my asking salary. She violated a few EEO laws in Colorado: - asking my previous salary - informing that she cannot disclose the salary budget because it is confidential Surprise surprise, a week later I got an email from her that the hiring manager does not want to move forward with my application. When asking for feedback/reasons, she became unresponsive. This is my 2nd interview with WU for 2 separate positions. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the best), I would rate WU interview process as negative 2. For an established large organization, it is appalling to me that the talent acquisition team is a "hot mess". I would not recommend my network to apply at WU.
