The interview process is rather annoying and frustrating.
The Tech lead interview was rather straight forward with STAR type of questions.
But the technical "home assignment" (Venue Opening Hours) is pretty complex with very annoying edge cases and string transformations etc. and requires "production ready" code. During the Tech-lead interview, I was informed that the expected time investment from every candidate for the home assignment is about 20 hours. In my opinion, that is an unreasonable demand on effort from each candidate. For someone without prior experience in Kotlin/Ktor, this could easily translate to spending up to a week on the assignment.
Typically, I avoid interview processes with such demanding tasks and this was a good reminder for why that is a good strategy.
On the plus side, the recruiters were responsive and followed up quickly.
