HR called and gave a detailed overview of the role and the company, focusing primarily on the positives rather than explaining why I was needed for the role. She mentioned that the hiring manager would go into more detail about the position. The HR representative was very friendly, and the call left me with a positive impression. However, the hiring manager's approach was quite different. He was rather cold and described the interaction as a "friendly chat," but it felt uncomfortable, as if he wasn't familiar with my background. The conversation mainly revolved around mutual connections, which seemed irrelevant to my professional qualifications. The call was brief, lasting less than 15 minutes, and ended abruptly when he asked if I had any questions, to which I responded no. The experience left me wondering what it would be like to work in an account management team where the manager doesn't even crack a smile.
Other than resume and experience discussions. What are your strengths and what are your weaknesses
I had gaps in my experience, and they wanted to know how I was going to fill those gaps. It was a great question, and I'd ask the same thing if I was the interviewer. Caught me off guard though.
