To get a 'continuing appointment' you will have 5 years to innovate services and programs, show leadership, research, publish, go to conferences, contribute to university service, have a national presence in your field, etc. Be prepared to answer questions about how you would contribute to the profession (conferences, research, publishing) and the university (committees, student life) as a whole, not just your job.
