Tell me a bit about yourself. What makes you stand out from the competition/what makes you different? Why are you interested in the position?
There was no difficult questions for me. I had been on a few interviews at that time and was used to them. But just to list one, I would have to say the question about tell me your weaknesses. I really hate that one. I use a different reason all the time.
Questions were fair and relevant to industry; nothing was unexpected or difficult

How will you manage the transition to this role?
In no particular order: 1) How do you meet deadlines? 2) Describe to us your process in underwriting a new or existing deal? 3) How do you deliver news that isn't the best? 4) The floor is opened up for you to ask questions.
Q: What about excess insurance/underwriting interests you, and why?
What is your favorite movie? If you could time travel in the movie the Avengers, where would you go and why? (in other words, what choice would you make to impact plot/character development) What would you choose as your theme/pump up song if you were a professional athlete? What is your biggest regret in life? If you won the lottery, what would you do with the money? What would your worst enemy say about you?
Nothing out of the ordinary from most financial companies. They do add an online technical test which I found both challenging and interesting.
