Come in this morning to interview and my round 1 interview was approximately 3 minutes long as a millennial tried to understand my executive resume. He wasn't sure what kinds of questions to ask me and just kind of fumbled through some niceties while telling me that I was perfect for round 2 interview.. which would start in about 20 minutes if I could stick around.... of course I could... so he then says it will last about an hour or more.. is my schedule free for me to stay? Hmmm... why not. I was then taken to a large room with about 30 chairs and tables all set up for a presentation. Loud music was playing and I was asked to take a seat and wait... this wasn't going to be an interview after all by the looks of it. Slowly but surely... all the other applicants came in one by one and were seated around me. There were about 20 of us. So.. just to make sure I get this right.. .The company "Dallas Incorporated" called to interview me.. I showed up to the Irving office and the name on the office is "Allan Jennings Insurance".. not "Dallas Incorporated"... red flag #1. My interview was with "Robert".. not "Allan".. who I was told was so excited to meet with me asap. My interview wasn't an interview.. it was a screening... which led to a sales pitch... So... Allan comes into the room and makes a heartfelt emotional pitch to all of of us about how he got into insurance and why he loves it so much. Then he hands over the clicker to the slideshow to Robert... Rob puts on an entertaining show for all of us as he goes through the company history, the product, the income potential and so on. He closes it by telling us we will be able to make our own schedules, take as much or little appointments as we want.. make about $800 per sale and climb the wealth ladder. He also tosses in that we all need to become licensed and that's to the tune of $199.. of which the company will pay for all but $25 of that.. and then rattles off another $175 in fees we need to pay OUT OF POCKET to become qualified to even work there... They say they will pay you $200 per week while you train and learn the first few months how to do the field sales pitches... then you get paid based on whether or not you get people signed up for the insurance services. They say that there is 0 prospecting involved, but after researching the company online, I read that many of the warm leads they provide have already been worked by agents previously.. so I don't see how they are NOT setting you up for failure and embarrassment here. The company makes a huge point in saying how much honesty and integrity means to them... so on my exit survey.. I ask the question why, if honesty & integrity is so important to them, do they utterly mislead potential employees.... (I mean independent contractors... because you will NOT be an employee... ) Needless to say, I am a highly educated individual who has been holding positions at the executive director level for 12 years... I didn't get a call back. I'm not sure if it's because I called them out on their own ethics or what... but this is a total pyramid... this is just an office full of folks trying to promote themselves on the backs of others. The big rules here is NEVER PAY to work for someone else. If commission based jobs are for you, maybe you'd like working here... but for most of us, we have bills that are due on the same days every single month and we have to make sure they are paid. This company wasted three hours of my time today by lying about the position, its compensation, and basically everything else. They aren't looking for quality people, they are looking for warm bodies. Google... google all of them. Do your due dilligence. I wish I had spent more time researching before committing to driving over there. I searched my inbox and ... guess what??? I NEVER APPLIED to this company! I don't know where they found my resume but they duped me just like that!!!! If this is the integrity this company is built on... STEER CLEAR!!!!
