Why is now the right time for you to join DCD’s Grants Committee? What do you think the 5 most important priorities are when assessing grant applications. We never have enough funds to support all applications, nor can we always fund applicants to the full amount requested. Do you think it is better to award: more dancers with lower than requested funding amounts? OR fewer dancers with the full amount requested? Please explain your reasoning, in support of your answer. There is not a right or wrong answer, we are interested in your thinking behind your answer. ‘It depends’ is not an option! With limited resources available, there are inevitably difficult decisions to be made about which dancers DCD should support. How will you ensure equity and fairness in decision making, particularly if you perceive fellow committee members are biased towards dancers from a particular dance genre i.e. Hip Hop or ballet?
One question theme was about collaboration and working with others - to describe my approach to collaboration and to provide an example.
It was more them trying to sell me on the opportunity of using their platform to obtain board positions/ advisory roles.
E.g. aluminum foil has a shiny side and a matte side, why? What will you do if a new obviously relevant prior art becomes known to you shortly before the oral proceedings... like an exam....
